Topic 2:
I just saw kung Fu panda 3; no I
don’t want to spoil it for people looking forward to see the movie. I’ll talk
about another topic…Ooh I know, I’m going to talk about my jazz ensemble class
today. Today was a special day for jazz drummers because we had a special guest
come in our class to teach us new ways to see, feel, and hear music differently. This
special guest was also a jazz drummer who taught at FIU, Miami-Dade, and a
couple of other colleges around Miami. This guys name was Rodolfo;
unfortunately I didn’t catch his last name. As soon as he walked in the class
he said and demonstrated more than any other guest that our music teacher has
ever invited. He taught the whole band how to fix individual musical problems.He told us that as a band we have to connect, and we weren’t
connected and he helped us with dynamics, subdividing, and techniques. He also
showed all the drummers how to use brushes and how we could use it to keep
time. It was such an honor for him to explain and demonstrate his skills and technique. He literally melted my face off, in other words he blew my mind. He also said that drum charts were suggestions and we could be artistically
free as possible as long as we stick with the style and groove.
Kung Fu panda is this shit also, the movie was really good
